Wrapping up 2009

As far as fertility went, it seems like we took 1 step forward and 2 steps back each cycle. We are hopeful that 2010 will be the year of a healthy, happy baby.

My grand total for weight loss this year was 36lbs!

January- I was diagnosed with PCOS and started metformin. I started eating healthy and trying to work out.

February- I decided that I wanted to meet with a fertility specialist about what future treatments would be. I also began charting. My periods finally started coming on their own around the end of this month.

March- I met Dr. Aubuchon. The practice was going to be very expensive for even the most basic treatments. Zach and I decided to just continue trying on our own.

April- I started at Inches-A-Weigh to really jump start my weight loss. I started having what seemed like Gallbladder pain. Eventually we figured out that it was just the medication I was taking.

May- We celebrated our birthdays and decided that we would try a clomid cycle with my OB.

June- We did our first cycle of clomid @ 50mg. I used OPK's and thought I ovulated. I found out that my OPK's gave me a false positive and that I did not in fact ovulate.

July- We met with Dr. Scheiber and discussed treatment options at their practice. Their practice was much more reasonable with their pricing. We decided to move forward with treatment. My periods have gone missing again!

August- We did clomid cycle #2 @ 100mg. Zach had his SA and everything came back good with that. I also interviewed OB doctors because I needed a new one.

September- I ovulated but we didn't get pregnant. I learned that I was in danger of losing my job.

October- We did clomid cycle #3 @ 100mg again. I ovulated but then I was sick with H1N1 and pneumonia. Needless to say we didn't get pregnant this month. I have been off birth control for 1 year!

November- We did clomid cycle #4 @ 100mg again. I responded very slowly this month. We were going to do IUI but it fell on the day that we left for Hawaii. We had an amazing time in Hawaii!

December- We were so close this month. We got a BFP. We found out that it was a c/p. Since my response to clomid last month was so slow, Dr. S. switched me to Femara 7.5 mg. We did IUI on 12/24 and are praying that the Christmas spirit is with us.

We are looking forward to what 2010 brings us. Thanks for following along our journey and all of your positive and warm thoughts. I hope you stay tuned in 2010 as it's sure to be an interesting year.
