So AF is here. I expected her to show up. I tested with FMU (first morning urine) 11 dp IUI and 13 dp IUI and got BFFN!
AF showed up yesterday full force around 2am. That's a lovely wake up call right? Not so much.
I spent a good part of yesterday feeling like my uterus was trying to fall out. I think this period is so bad because the progesterone supplements I was using cause your uterine lining to be really thick. If you're not pregnant then all of that has to go somewhere which leads me to an awful period.
I called the nurse line yesterday to tell them yesterday was CD1. They said, "Ok. Dr. S. wants you to a couple different things this month." I'm thinking "Oh crap! He can't want us to move forward to IVF yet. We've only done one IUI."
The nurse says he wants you to have an HSG and to start injectibles which are follistim.
I'm like, "Uh, ok. How much is the HSG OOP and the follistim OOP?" She proceeded to tell me the HSG is between $1-2,000 OOP. The follistim is also between $1-2,000.
I ask when I would start this stuff and when I would need to do the HSG. She said the follistim I would start on CD3 but I'd have to have an u/s first to make sure my ovaries are nice and quiet. The HSG needs to be done this cycle on a certain day of my cycle.
So we had like 2 days notice to come up with $2,000. Not so good.
I went in for my u/s yesterday and guess what! My ovaries are not quiet. They have too many cysts left over from last cycle. Wa wa wa!
Ovaries = Fail!
So this month we are on a break from medicine which is sort of nice to give us time to save up to pay for this stuff.
I plan on calling Dr. B on Monday to see about getting the HSG done next Friday.
I am terrified of the HSG. Seriously. I have heard of too many horror stories and I am totally flipping out. I have avoided the HSG for as long as possible. I can't avoid it any longer though.
We will still try on our own though. If our blog is a little quiet over the next month forgive me. I'm not sure I'm entertaining enough by myself to keep this up for a month without help from my Dr. and the DSL's.
Have a good weekend!
